it's quite surprising that something like that can drive.

Is the metal top factory? Very rare to see late 31's with a metal top over the common cloth tops. Looks like a really nice pickup to start with!

Very cool don't see many late 31's the metal top was very late production before they shutdown for retooling for the new 1932 cabs. It was getting the workers ready for what was going be standard all all cabs. Also to get the public a taste of what was to come. I have a 1933 ford pickup but its nowhere near original.

I know this post is from quite a while ago, but how’s the project? I’ve got a fully restored ‘31 Model A and it’s an absolute gem to drive. Hope you dad’s got his up and running.

He’s actually just starting; he just finished restoring a John Deere 420 tractor.

Well it’s a fantastic machine and an absolute pleasure to work on. The brakes are a bit of a hassle to keep balanced, but once it’s dialed, it’ll run forever on basic maintenance. I’ve been casually looking for a ‘31 pickup to restore. I feel like my Cabriolet needs an old friend to park next to.
